Then they redid the countdown again from 10. John told us to hold the girl we brought for “Without You Here,” so that was Amanda, so we spent the whole song holding each other and swaying and occasionally pretending to make out, and Robby laughed at us.

The Gelheads were actually really good and a lot of fun. After the show, their guitar player gave Amanda a beer.

I have no idea. Someone else threw a black rose onstage with a piece of paper and a sharpie attached for John to sign. He said that he had never done that before, but he would, so he signed it and gave it back to her, and then made a joking comment about how selfish she was being to be interrupting the concert and only thinking of herself. He also commented on how ~goth~ the rose was and asked if she got it at Hot Topic.

John was wearing a black button-front shirt and jeans. He was wearing a jacket at first, but took it off a couple songs into the set. And yeah, NO encore!! But he is HOT.
So sorry to forget to mention it above; I blame it on sleep deprivation. I was lucky enough to meet our gracious website creator, Steph, and her friend Amanda in the hotel lobby after the show. Thanks, Steph, for putting up with my questions
I’d forgive ‘em for not doing encores/BD because of that friggin’ awesome setlist. Really nice to see ASTA and Tucked Away.
That looked like a great concert to be at (except for the GA part)They mixed up the setlist, John was talkative and looked nice and slim…Oh well…I hope they come to Montreal soon and that it’s a reserved seating show, so that this shorty can actually see the band…

I was reading that eating a bunch of grapes on NYE is a Spanish tradition that is supposed to bring good luck, so maybe the thrower wanted John to actually eat them, or got a little confused about the tradition? I’d put the link up, but…
BTW I saw the video of the autograph signing onstage, but I didn’t see the black rose…I have to say that black roses are very cool XD
